Dysuria
Accompanied by Fever
Lower Back Pain for 3 Days
What Could Be the Cause... ...
Recently, Patient Mr. S visited the Department of General Medicine at Heyou Pinnacle Medical Center due to "dysuria accompanied by fever and lower back pain for 3 days." Examinations revealed concurrent urinary tract infection, acute prostatitis, and urinary retention, which had triggered systemic reactions and impacted liver and kidney function.

Faced with these multifaceted health issues, the Department of General Medicine promptly coordinated with the Departments of Urology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Nutrition. The diagnosis was a Klebsiella pneumoniae urinary tract infection, benign prostatic hyperplasia with acute urinary retention, a left kidney stone, and systemic metabolic disturbance.
Based on the test results, the pathogen type was identified, and the anti-infection medication was adjusted accordingly. Comprehensive interventions including catheterization, liver protection, and nutritional support were implemented.
Throughout the treatment process, the medical team focused not only on the disease itself but also on the patient’s overall experience:
After a period of treatment and care, the patient’s body temperature and infection indicators gradually improved, and his overall condition stabilized.
